Two charged with Cocorite murder

Isaac “Moon” Phillip and Ricardo “Peter Crouch” Regis appeared before a Port of Spain magistrate on Friday last, charged with the murder of Dillon “Toto” De Silva.

The two men were charged on Thursday last upon advice from the Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions.

The two men were arrested in a police road block shortly after De Silva’s death on July 13.

Police reports said De Silva was leaving a house on Main Street, Cocorite, when a black Toyota Yaris stopped in front him. Two armed men got out of the car and shot De Silva several times before escaping in the car. De Silva ran a short distance before falling in a nearby grassy area in front the house.

The matter was adjourned to August 18.
