Rigtech Sonics win Luces Brothers' Cycling team sprint

Rigtech Sonics captured the Luces Brothers’ Memorial Cycling Classic team sprint title when the eighth edition rode off along the new Skinner Park cycling track in San Fernando on Saturday.
The trio of D’Angelo Harris, Zion Pulido and Judah Neverson topped the three-lap event in one minute, 10.752 seconds (1:10.752).
Pedalling to silver medal were Arima Wheelers’ Ryan D’Abreau, Kyle Caraby and Danell James in 1:12.422 while Evolution Cycling Academy’s Mickael Ackee, Richard Balthasar and Javon Ramroop held on to bronze in 1:13.300.
Madonna Wheelers’ Troy Nelson, Raul Garcia and Sequan Samaroo placed fourth.
Pulido also won another gold in the elite one elimination race. He beat to the line Arima Wheelers’ Ryan D’Abreau, PSL’s Haseem McLean and Raiders’ Liam Trepte, respectively.
In the men’s elite and junior keirin, McLean beat the field to capture gold. He was followed by Pulido, D’Abreau and Garcia, in that order.
And in the feature event – the 45-lap open – Trepte showed endurance to claim top honours ahead of silver medallist D’Abreau and bronze receiver Caraby.
Team DPS’ Dahlia Palmer won the women senior and junior 12-lap race. Heatwave’s Cheyenne Awai placed second, Arima Wheelers’ Adrianna Seyjagat third and Madonna Wheelers’ Phoebe Sandy fourth.
