Jereem fifth in speed-filled Prefontaine 400m

TRINIDAD and Tobago's Jereem Richards placed fifth in a speed-filled men’s 400-metre event at the Prefontaine Classic in Eugene, Oregon, USA on Saturday.
Running out of lane seven, Richards clocked a personal best time of 44.79 seconds in his first outdoor 400m race for the season.
Winning gold was American Michael Norman in a blistering world-leading, Diamond League and meet record of 43.60s. The Prefontaine Classic also served as the Diamond League’s Oregon leg.
Capturing silver in a season’s best time was Grenadian Kirani James in 44.02s while Great Britain’s Matthew Hudson-Smith claimed bronze and set a new national record and personal best.
American Vernon Norwood (44.66s) was fourth while Richards rounded off the top five.
