Cunupia FC win Ascension League opener

CUNUPIA FC whipped Real West Fort United 3-1 on Friday, as the Ascension Football League kicked off at the La Horquetta Recreation Ground, Arima.

This game was the opening match of a double-header, with Defence Force and hosts Terminix La Horquetta FC battling to a 1-1 draw.

Defender Justin Garcia put the Army-Coast Guard combination ahead after 27 minutes but Tyrone Charles replied for La Horquetta, in the 47th.

The first round of matches continued with a pair of games at the Arima Velodrome on Saturday, and will end on Sunday with Central FC opposing AC Port of Spain, from 5 pm, at the Police Barracks, St James.
