The Scarborough library now has four copies of the new book Deep Indigo: Lady Dorothy D'Oyly Carte and St Yves de Verteuil in Tobago, 1933-1978.

They were presented recently by Alex de Verteuil on behalf of his cousin, the author Elizabeth Cadiz Topp, to librarian Gabrielle Fernandes.

The books will be housed in the Tobago Heritage Library and in the adult library.

Infused with joy, humour and heartbreak, the non-fiction book tells the story of a courageous and eccentric aristocrat who loved Tobago deeply and dedicated many years of her life to the Plymouth community, both as a politician and charity worker.

It is available for sale in Tobago at Shore Things on the Old Milford Road, and in Trinidad at Paper Based, Hotel Normandie.
