Man killed in San Fernando accident

A MAN believed to be homeless, was knocked down and killed while attempting to cross a road in San Fernando on Tuesday morning.

The victim was struck by a van at the Golconda Connector Road near Cross Crossing. Police have not yet identified the man who is said to be of East Indian descent and about 5 feet 10 inches. The accident happened shortly before 7 am, and no one else was injured.

Police have since interviewed the driver of the van. On Monday morning, an accident claimed the life of a woman believed to be a Venezuelan. She too has not been identified.

She was attempting to cross the northbound lane of the Solomon Hochoy Highway in Freeport where a car knocked her down. Police said she could be in her mid-20s.
