Four charged for gun, gas tanks, ammo in Tobago
Four people from Golden Grove Road, Canaan appeared virtually before a Scarborough magistrate on Friday charged with possession of firearms and ammunition and unlawful possession of over 200 gas cylinders.
Nigel Anderson, 45, a proprietor, Nadia Tricia Romeo, 36, a labourer, Dwight Tittle, 35, and Jaheim Romeo, an 18-year-old cashier, were arrested on Monday after members of the Tobago Divisional Task Force searched their home.
During the search police reportedly seized 213 gas tanks, and a .38 revolver found in a wooden drawer. They also later found the ammunition. The items were seized and the four were arrested and charged.
Anderson was granted bail with surety of $150,000 with a cash alternative of $10,000, Nadia and Jaheim Romeo and Dwight Tittle were each granted bail with surety of $100,000 or a cash alternative of $10,000. As a condition of bail, all four are to report to the Crown Point Police Station every Saturday.
Anderson faced additional charges for larceny and unlawful possession of the gas tanks.
The matter was adjourned to January 14.
