As the country slowly reopens, the public patiently awaits the reopening of their favourite hangouts.

There are still a number of public spaces under lock and key.

A spokesman for the Emperor Valley Zoo in Port of Spain said on Tuesday the zoo plans to reopen on June 22, in the next phase of reopening.

Representatives from the Arima Borough Corporation and the Port of Spain City Corporation said on Tuesday public parks and recreation sites, including the Nelson Mandela Park, remain closed to the public. They are awaiting directives from the government on when the next phase of reopenings will take place.

The Agricultural Planning Division in the Ministry of Agriculture is also awaiting direction from the government and until then the Botanical Gardens, which fall under their purview, will remain closed to the public.
