Maraval woman’s death under probe
JENSEN LA VENDE
HOMICIDE detectives are investigating the death of a woman in Maraval under what they deem very questionable circumstances.
According to police reports, 38-year-old Nanvita Harduthan was found in her Pineapple Trace, Haleland Park home, on Thursday, in what was described as a suicide. When Harduthan’s body was taken to the Port of Spain General Hospital mortuary, doctors noticed marks of violence and ordered that her body be sent to the Forensic Science Centre, St James for an autopsy which was done on Friday.
The autopsy revealed she died of asphyxiation, however her death has not yet been classified. Police said Harduthan’s husband found her body on their bed with a strap around her neck.
Sea Lots man shot dead
In an unrelated death, a 30-year-old Sea Lots man was murdered at house in central Trinidad yesterday morning. According to police reports, at about 5 am, residents of Jerningham Junction, Cunupia heard gunshots and went to an apartment, in the area, where they found Andy Grant dead.
Grant was originally from Pioneer Drive, Sea Lots. Police said they have no motive for his killing.
