Dog runs off with human bone

The burnt remains of a human body was found in the forest of Gran Couva yesterday after a dog was seen running out the forest with a bone in its mouth.

According to police reports the remains were discovered around 3.45 pm yesterday three miles into the forest off Indian Trail. Police said they could not confirm if the remains were that of a male or female. A pair of boots and a belt found near the body and relatives of a missing 56-year-old man believe it to be him but without DNA evidence to confirm police do not want to release the possible identity.

Police said the dog was seen with the bone in its mouth and residents followed the dog back to the scene where the remains, which was burnt, was found.
