Promoting Tobago at Caribbean Week
Tourism Secretary Nadine Stewart-Phillips was one of the presenters at the June 6 Caribbean Marketing Conference, one of the events of Caribbean Week which was hosted by the Caribbean Tourism Organisation (CTO) from June 3-10 in New York.
Stewart Phillips deliver her presentation on the conference’s topic, “New Markets. New Products. New Opportunities.”
She also has the honour of introducing keynote speaker Sallie Fraenke at the event, a release from the Division of Tourism said.
The conference focussed on the diversification of the Caribbean’s tourism offerings and markets open for year-round business - a key area in sustaining Tobago’s tourism industry.
Stewart-Phillips led a combined delegation from the Tourism Division and the Tobago Tourism Agency Limited to Caribbean Week to promote Destination Tobago to the US market. In addition to participating in various forums and workshops, team members also ensured Tobago was featured at the Trade Show, Educational Forum and Dinner for Travel Agents on June 5 to provide potential visitors with information on the destination.
Caribbean Week is hosted annually by the Caribbean Tourism Organisation (CTO) and combines business sessions and consumer-oriented events with food, fashion, entertainment, sales and networking opportunities. It creates awareness of the Caribbean’s diverse product offerings and showcases its desirability through business development opportunities, consumer engagement and authentic cultural experiences.
