Mario's sorry for 'Ratatouille'
Nichelle Grey Smith, brand co-ordinator, Mario’s Pizza, has apologised for the presence of a rodent inside one of the company’s restaurants in west Trinidad.
Her apology followed a video showing an irate customer complaining bitterly about the presence of the rodent inside of the restaurant early yesterday. In the video that was circulated online, one onlooker referred to the rodent as “Ratatouille.”
“We regret that this has occurred and as soon as it came to our attention, we contacted our pest control company,” she said in a statement.
Grey Smith said the company had a rigorous pest control maintenance programme “however, it is clear that we have fallen short on this occasion.”
She said, on learning of the incident, the company’s pest control contractor responded immediately. “They have re-baited all rodent stations and sprayed for crawling insects as they would usually do. They have investigated and taken corrective action.”
Grey Smith said they would continue to monitor the situation to ensure the highest standards of public health and safety were maintained.
