Govt office madness

THE EDITOR: Please allow me a space in your esteemed newspaper to highlight my disgust with the Aranguez Branch of the Ministry of Social Development & Family Services. I visited that office on Thursday at 2.45 pm to find their doors locked and a number of people, young and old, standing outside.

Shortly thereafter, we were greeted by the MTS security officer who gold us he had been instructed to lock the doors at 2.45 pm to facilitate members of the public already in their waiting area and that if they allowed any more people in the office after 2.45 pm the staff would not be able to leave work at 4 pm. What utter madness!

Honourable Minister of Social Development and Family Services Ms Cherrie-Ann Crichlow-Cockburn, I am calling on you to use your good office and inform members of the public the working hours of staff falling under your purview.

The last I checked, government offices hours of work are Mondays to Thursdays 8 am to 4.15 pm and Fridays 8 am to 4 pm. Please indicate whether this has changed to facilitate your staff.
