Brasso man killed

The murder toll has risen to 444 with the shooting death of a Brasso Seco man. He has been identified as Terrence Bailey. His common-law wife was at their home at Paria Walk, Brasso Seco when she heard gunshots. Before she could check to see what was happening, Bailey ran into their living room holding his chest. He told his wife he had been shot, before falling to the floor and dying.

Police and a district medical officer went to the scene and the body was moved to the Forensic Science Centre for an autopsy. A motive for the killing has not yet been established.

In another incident, a 36-year-old man was shot dead in Laventille on Wednesday evening. The man, identified as Jackie “Bucky” Peruza was driving a Nissan Tiida at John John Road, when his car was ambushed by gunmen.

Peruza tried to escape by getting out of the car and running, but he collapsed a short distance away after he was shot.
