Let’s see what Mayers can do

THE EDITOR: All eyes will be focused on one of TT’s popular politicians, Robert “Robbie” Mayers, who has been appointed chairman of the Telecommunications Services of TT (TSTT).

Now if I know Mayers, who every Carnival Tuesday masquerades in Massy Trinidad All Stars as the tallest retired “admiral” in the sailor band, taxpayers will be counting on him to sail the TSTT ship smoothly.

Mayers has been one of the fastest walkers around the Queen’s Park Savannah since the legendary “Mile A Minute,” idolised in calypso by Lord Melody. Now that Mayers has been given the opportunity, let’s see what he can do. I hope Mayers knows that when the curtains are drawn and the lights go on, he cannot rehearse.
