Philip Morris, Piranha International to recycle e-cigarettes
PHILIP MORRIS Trinidad and Tobago (PMTT) has signed an agreement with Piranha International Ltd for the recycling of its Veev Now disposable vapes.
A release from Philip Morris said the programme aligns with the national recycling policy for TT, which enables the country to properly address e-waste management.
“This programme consists of placing collection boxes at points of scale where consumers can return their used devices for proper disposal.”
The release said Piranha International will collect and recycled the used units.
The release said this was the first recycling programme of its kind in TT. It said the programme reaffirms the company’s commitment to creating a smoke-free environment.
PMTT general manager Tomas Ayala said the company works hard to integrate sustainability into every aspect of its business.
“For PMTT, sustainability is more than just a means to minimise negative externalities and mitigate risks. As we transform for good we see it as a fundamental opportunity for innovation, growth, and purpose-led value creation,” he said.
Piranha International is an e-waste disposal company that does shredding services, incineration, recycling and waste management.
