Two more covid19 patients sent home

TWO more people have been discharged from the Sangre Grande Centre in Brooklyn, the Ministry of Health said on Friday night.

Also, a total of 1,838 samples have been sent to the Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA) for testing, the ministry’s 10 pm covid19 update said.

The information provided by the ministry showed an additional 58 samples had been sent to CARPHA since Friday afternoon. In its 4 pm update, the number of samples sent for testing up to that time was 1,780.

In addition to the two people discharged on Friday evening, eight were cleared to go home from the Home of Football in Couva between 10 am and 4 pm on Friday, bringing the total number discharged to 83.

The total number of cases remains at 116.

The death toll also remains unchanged at eight – seven in Trinidad and one in Tobago.

There are now 21 people in step-down facilities: eight at the Brooklyn facility in Sangre Grande Centre and 13 at the Home of Football.
