Las Lomas to get water

Repair work to increase water production at the Las Lomas Water Treatment Plant is the reason why Las Lomas No 1 has had little water over the past month.

In a Newsday article on October 31, residents complained they had no pipe-borne water for three weeks and the one time they received water it was extremely dirty.

In a release, The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) said, “The authority wishes to acknowledge that it has been experiencing some challenges recently with maintaining the distribution system pressures necessary to supply customers in the Las Lomas No 1 area. In particular, there are approximately 25 households at the extremities of the distribution system which are being impacted.”

WASA said initial work at the well is expected to be completed by November 11. In the mean time the Authority has been transferring water from its Caroni Transmission System so there should be improved delivery to customers by November 2.

It added that the authority would provide a truck borne supply to customers who do not receive pipe-borne water.
