Chinese shot during bar robbery

A Chinese national known only as ‘Hu’, is in stable condition after he was shot during a robbery at the 5 Corners Bar in Pasea Village, Tunapuna on Saturday night.

According to reports at around 9.30 pm, Hu was behind the counter of the bar when three armed men entered and announced a hold-up.

Hu handed over the money, but upon leaving, one of the men shot him in the lower abdomen before fleeing the scene.

Patrons called the police and Hu was rushed to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex in Mt Hope where up to early yesterday morning he was still undergoing treatment for the gunshot wound.

No arrest was made and investigations are continuing.
