Maloney man, 51, shot dead

A Maloney man was shot dead just after midnight on Friday.

Police said Anderson Matthew Joseph, 51, of Building 14, Apartment 4-2, South Maloney, was walking to Maloney Boulevard when a silver car pulled alongside him. Three men got out and fired several shots at him.

He tried to escape through Building 15 but collapsed in the porch  of one of the apartments.

The gunmen followed him and fired several more shots at the porch, hitting three other men. The men returned to the car and escaped.

A DMO pronounced Joseph dead and his body was removed to the Forensic Science Centre for an autopsy.

The injured men were transported to the Arima Hospital, where they remain in a stable condition.

Police found several 5.56 ammunition spent shells, multiple projectiles, and three fragments. Investigations are ongoing.
