3 arrested for stolen construction material

POLICE arrested three men and recovered a quantity of stolen construction material in an anti-crime exercise in the Arima district on August 15.

In a release on August 18, police said officers of the National Operations Task Force and Arima CID held a joint exercise based on information on alleged gang activities in the Arima district on August 15.

Police stopped a blue Isuzu pickup truck with three men. The men, ages 22-30, all of Arima, were arrested after police found the construction material.

Police say their investigations revealed the material was allegedly removed from a compound owned by a contractor.

The contractor later identified the material as belonging to him.
