THE EDITOR: All Caricom leaders and the entire Caribbean community must be proactive and publicly congratulate our homecoming athletes who performed at their best, despite unexpected circumstances.

There may have been questions, but the TT contingent made a valiant effort, as we saw in Jereem Richards, Keshorn Walcott, Nicholas Paul and Kwesi Browne in the Paris Olympics.

Competition was extremely high and I wondered if our athletes were missing the Trini food.

There was evidence of pockets of harmony, mostly expressed after events, especially the track and field races.

I observed some athletes lost their focus after experiencing questionable judging. However, there ought to be a general consensus of positive vibes coming from all of us.

When the next Olympics in Los Angeles comes around we are sure to bask in glory when our athletes resume the winning of medals – and not merely friends, which we need all over the globe.
