Worldwide Reinsurance celebrates 25 years

The Rooftop of The Brix Hotel on Coblentz Avenue, Cascade, was the venue for the 25th-anniversary celebration and award ceremony of the internationally-rated company Worldwide Reinsurance Ltd.

Worldwide Insurance Ltd was incorporated in Grenada in 1994 to do direct non-life business in fire, marine, automotive and liability, in accordance with the Grenada Insurance Act.

By 2004, Patrick E Taylor started discussions with the board of Worldwide Insurance Ltd for 100 per cent acquisition for reinsurance purposes, a media release said.

In January 2006, the acquisition was completed with further incorporations in Trinidad and Tobago and Guyana. The company's name was changed to Worldwide Reinsurance Ltd (WRe), and today WRe underwrites non-life business on an excess and surplus basis, facultative placements and captive accounts from Latin America, Asia and the Caribbean, the release said.

Employees, customers, friends and family came to The Brix to celebrate the company’s success. Worldwide also paid tribute to and awarded its longstanding workers.
