NATIONAL Transformation Alliance (NTA) political leader Gary Griffith said the NTA and the Opposition UNC are on a roll towards victory in the local government elections on August 14.

In a statement on Saturday, Griffith said, "NTA and UNC supporters are uniting at the polls on August 14, and there is nothing that can be done to stop it.*

The UNC and NTA have formed an alliance to contest the elections.

He claimed the fear this is generating within the PNM is evident from an audio recording that was played at a PNM public meeting in Chaguanas on Friday.

Griffith confirmed that one of the voices in the recording was his.

In the clip, Griffith was criticising Opposition Leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar for her work hours as prime minister.

In the former UNC-led People's Partnership (PP) coalition government, Griffith served as national security adviser to Persad-Bissessar and later as national security minister.

"It’s an eight year-old recording, which was done after both Jack Warner and myself left the UNC."

Griffith said, "It is a clear indication to citizens that the PNM’s fear is massive, as they know once the true opposition forces unite, they stand little chance of political survival."

He also claimed this audio clip is generating interested with another party contesting the elections.

Griffith described this entity as the PNM's "Orange B team."

He insisted that the Prime Minister was lazier than Persad-Bissessar because Dr Rowley is "one who is a on a golf course 4 days a week, from 7 am to 2 pm."

Griffith said all people know that a vote against the NTA/UNC alliance is a vote to keep Rowley in office.
