IS NOT today Y’Boy studying these Trinis who doesn’t read at all-at all, who never even finish a literature book in secondary school – but pontificating on what kinda book RIK should sell today; it have nothing more annoying than a cockroach who does push up he-self in fowl business.

Also, too, Y’Boy does get real kicks how Trini does jump to confusion and grip it like pit bull. When Trinity College boys contravene the school hairstyle guide, as a for instance, Trini cyar see nothing but anti-African racism in it, ent it? Y’Boy ent denying the anti-African racism aplenty everywhere – but is not the only thing; ex-specially when it have restriction on all haircut.

Y’Boy not saying the school was right because, once somebody hair not scaring the horses, nobody should tell them what to do it with it; too besides, you could look at the inhumanity and see is wrong. But you have to tick every box before you moves past it and declare your gut reaction to be correct.

But is a waste of time pointing out it have ham or chicken or pudding there on the table becaw some Trini, when they have hops in they hand, only want rat cheese.

Y’Boy, as a next for instance, does get thunder when he write something ’bout England or the USA or anywhere but the continent of Trinidad. “What Donald Trumps have to do with Trinidad? Look, BC, hush yuh short ar-- and write ’bout how wicked the PNM/UNC and them is!”

Y’Boy wondering if you could celebrate the 75th anniversary of the British National Health Service anywhere in the world today.

The National Health Service is, for Y’Boy, the crowning glory of modern civilisation and thing. What a revolutionary thought it was: that nobody should have to get sick or die because they couldn’t afford a doctor! From 1948 until Maggie Thatcher Milk and Surgery Snatcher reach, poor people in the UK could get healthcare, even if they was broken to thief.

Compare that with American “for-profit healthcare” and you realises who really civilise and who primitive.

And compare how the world moving – back to rich people getting the best treatment money could buy and poor ones dropping like fly – and axe yourself if the NHS not worth celebrating, don’t mind how hard the low-class high-society Brexit government of England trying to destroy it.

Since they take power 13 years ago, the “privatise everything” Tory governments, with majorities secured in England (or via conspiracy with the Lib Dems) done defund the NHS by spending less and less money on the medical side and more and more on the outsourcing bit: Rishi Sunak and other very rich people who constitute the British government refuse to pay NHS nurses a living wage – but free up all the cash needed to pay agency nurses!

It have none so blind as them that doesn’t look to see. Give people outrageous distractions and, the more outrageous the distraction is the faster they look away from the real problem. Stop the boats could stop the Labour votes.

Y’Boy does wonder if Trinis does ever stop and think about what they have in a public healthcare system whereby them does roll up, day or night, with no cash and plenty attitude, and demand to see a firetrucking duck-tor right now! Y’Boy does wonder if all them Trini (including he-self) who does rage against colonialism, a justifiable and even required rage, doesn’t see what a civilising notion it is that human beings should be treated for sickness free? Even up to the point where the lowest sufferer could walk up to a A&E in a short pants and alpagats and still feel entitled! Where that come from, if not the same place as the NHS?

And that does always lead Y’Boy to wonder if we small islanders will ever look to ourselves first, if not alone.

But, then, Y’Boy does look at how we approach any issue, ignoring the fabric and ripping apart the hem, and Y’Boy does steups and go to the beach and lie down in the sand.

And wonder, for the umpteenth time, if he really cyar take up weed-smoking and learn not to bother ’bout these things.
