2 new vehicles for Point Fortin municipal police
THE Point Fortin municipal police have been given two new vehicles to assist with crime-fighting efforts in the borough.
This was revealed in a Facebook post by the Point Fortin Borough Corporation on Wednesday.
CEO of the corporation Donnamay Taylor told Newsday she is "particularly delighted and proud" when it comes to this development.
"I am confident that these additional vehicles will result in increased presence, improved crime-solving capabilities, and enhanced operational efficiency.
"This is largely due to the exemplary performance of the Point Fortin municipal police in areas such as task force mobilisation and community policing. The Task Force Unit's extensive knowledge of the borough's socio and geographic profiles enables them to actively monitor crime hotspots and criminal activity. Furthermore, the unit's mobile foot patrols and road traffic exercises provide them with increased and frequent visibility."
She added that the municipal police had earned public acclaim as "the go-to law enforcement agency for prompt and reliable responsiveness to reports by burgesses.
"Members of the public have also expressed satisfaction with the agency's excellent customer service.
"The Point Fortin municipal police have earned a reputation as the borough's first responders in matters of crime, initiating investigations and taking concrete steps to resolve criminal activities."
