2 of 3 charged with rape denied bail
THREE men appeared before a Chaguanas magistrate on Monday charged with raping a Venezuelan woman who got into a car she thought was a taxi in Couva last October.
Joel Jaamal Williams, of Chase Village, Freeport and Joshua Ramlakhan and Terence Lydon, both of Bank Village, Carapichaima appeared before magistrate Adrian Darmanie on Monday.
Robinson and Williams were denied bail, Ramlakhan was granted bail of $150,000 to be approved. The charges were laid indictably.
They were charged by PC Kevin Ramcharan of the Freeport police station.
It is alleged that on October 13, last year, the woman got into a car at Isaac Junction, and was then taken to a savannah and raped in a room in the pavilion.
A report was made to the Freeport police the same evening.
The men are expected to return to court on May 17.
