APT James arrives in Tobago on Friday
The new inter-island fast ferry, the APT James, is expected to arrive in TT on Friday.
The vessel, named after Tobago’s representative on the Legislative Council (1946-1961), is set to dock at the Port of Scarborough, Tobago, around 10.30 am.
It was built by Australian shipbuilder Austal at its Vung Tau shipyard in Vietnam.
In a statement, the National Infrastructure Development Co Ltd (Nidco) said the vessel will be on show for approximately 30 minutes before making its way to Port of Spain.
Nidco said there will be no disembarking or boarding in Scarborough or Port of Spain due to covid19 restrictions.
The company added, the vessel and the crew on board will subsequently undergo mandated Ministry of Health procedures in accordance with the public health safety regulations.
Nidco said viewing of the vessel will be arranged in both Trinidad and Tobago before its entry into service.
