Kes in live-streamed TV concert on Boxing night

Kes The Band is set to raise funds for two special charities on Boxing night as it celebrates the Christmas season with viewers in TT and the region with a live-streamed concert on CCN TV6, Tego TV and YouTube. The concert is titled We Home: Under One Roof.

Four months ago the band hosted We Home live music album launch and live performance concert for T&T's Independence on August 31, Kes is preparing for a socially-distanced 2021 amidst covid19 restrictions. However, despite the challenges ahead, the band of brothers has several projects and initiatives in the works and also decided to give back to those in need this Christmas by staging this live streaming concert on Boxing Night, said a media release.

We Home: Under One Roof is an event designed to entertain and raise the spirits in this time," lead singer Kees Dieffenthaller said in the release. "We're also raising funds for two main charities: The Touching Hands Project (THP) which is a project of the Caribbean Health Foundation in association with the America Hand Surgeon Society – and they provide hand surgeries for countries where those services are not available. Trinidad is one of the chapters so we would like to highlight that and raise funds for them, as well as The Shelter – which provides a safe space for women and children who have survived incidents of domestic violence."

Dieffenthaller explained the concept for the concert as well as some of the diverse needs of The Shelter:

"Of course, it is a physical space so it would need general maintenance, funding for basic and special amenities, for psychological personnel and care, as well as a number of different aspects that help this place to function efficiently so that they can help those in need.

"The show is also a diverse show – designed to showcase the different aspects of TT's culture especially at Christmas time and it's an extension of the We Home concert that we did on Independence Night, but turned up even more and expressed even deeper... We look forward to people logging on and viewing; to people singing, dancing and enjoying the show and we look forward to people donating to these worthy organisations as well."

The We Home: Under One Roof concert will air live from 7.30 pm and stream live simultaneously on YouTube and the Tego TV mobile App. Donations can be made during the live stream or during any repeat viewing of the concert on Tego TV.
