Crash brings down power lines, traffic diverted in Wallerfield

Police have blocked off the Churchill Roosevelt Highway in Wallerfield between Demerara Road and Cumuto Junction after a vehicle knocked down an utility pole on the median.

The driver of the vehicle has been taken to hospital but police were unable to determine his medical condition immediately.

The incident occurred around 3 pm. Traffic has been diverted as police await personnel from T&TEC to isolate and remove the fallen power lines.
