A covid19 nightmare thought?

THE EDITOR: Should Tobago have its own judiciary with prisoners being allowed to be incarcerated home style in Tobago? Should Tobago rule itself completely? Self-rule but no secession from Trinidad?

So are the taxpayers in Trinidad suffering from covid19 brain poisoning? Why would Trinidadians financially support political dreaming? These nonsensical ideas about self-rule for Tobago continue to emit from the fevered brain of the Minority Leader of the Tobago House of Assembly, Watson Duke.

Read my political lips, Duke. The cruise ship and hotel industries are offline until further notice. The world airline industry is arguably at 90 per cent lockdown.

With no vaccine yet for the coronavirus it is impossible to envisage a thriving tourism industry before, at earliest, 2022 for any large country, much less our wee small island of Tobago.

Read my lips with Trinidadians and the lips of the First World: covid19 has put the lid on grand-scale human ambition and wrecked world economies.

Wake up to what was always our particular new normal. Tobago cannot exist without financing from Trinidad. After covid19, there will be even less money for political ego-stroking in Tobago.
