MoH to make site visits to private labs

The Health Ministry will make site visits to private labs this week as part of the labs’ application to the ministry for certification.

CMO Dr Roshan Parasram said a team consisting of a medical lab technician and quality control specialists will visitthe labs.

They will submit a report after each visit detailing the types of machines being used, what type of tests are being done, the type of staff that are operating their machines, and whether they have previously been accredited for other tests as a lab.

He said he will go over these reports with the Caribbean Public Health Agency and the Pan-American Health Organisation and then deliver the results to the private labs one on one.
