A step in the right direction
THE EDITOR: The Maracas Beach facility received the much needed upgrade — a spacious car park, significantly improved drainage channels, and pedestrian crossings including railings. Well done, Ministry of Works and Transport.
I visited the beach with my family over the weekend and I was impressed. I was extremely fond of the new car park; it is very spacious and reduces the stress of parking previously experienced. The landscaping also boosted the overall look of the beach.
I recall a video circulating on social media earlier in the year of the deplorable state of the toilet facilities, which were overflowing with waste. It was a national embarrassment.
I am so thankful this infrastructural upgrade has now contributed significantly to the improved quality of the beach, one of our major tourist attractions.
The ministry’s PURE unit always performs exceptional work, the latest being the John Dillon Road project in Mundo Nuevo.
These projects connect communities as well as contribute to national development, in which the ministry is a major player.
