Pistol, ammo, ganja seized in Maraval

Officers of the Western Division Task Force seized a pistol, one round of ammunition and a quantity of marijuana during an exercise in the Maraval district yesterday.

A press release from the Police Service stated officers conducted the exercise between 11 pm and 3 am. When they proceeded to Morne Coco Road, Maraval, they conducted a search in some bushes along a river bank near the Maraval Community Centre.

The search resulted in the discovery of one black and silver Taurus pistol, the round of 9mm ammunition and three zip-lock bags containing a total of 27 grammes of marijuana.

No arrests were made in connection with the finds.
