Body found at La Brea port

POLICE have reported that a body was discovered at the port of La Brea on Friday.

Ann Frederick told Newsday police told her about the find, and she believes the body could be that of her 16-year-old grandson Iverson.

Frederick said she is awaiting confirmation.

Thomas is presumed to have drowned at Flower Pot Beach, Pointe-a-Pierre, on Tuesday.

As part of the covid19 restrictions, the public is banned from going to beaches.

Reports are that Thomas and a friend went for a swim about 10 am on Tuesday. When Thomas got into difficulties, the friend tried to help him, then swam ashore to alert passers-by.

Meanwhile Thomas disappeared.

Coast Guard divers were searching for Thomas when Newsday visited the beach on Thursday. Relatives were also there, praying for his body to be found.
