Keep school washrooms clean, please

THE EDITOR: On Tuesday, the TTUTA column dealt with the topic “Health, safety and the school environment.”

It was a very informative and relevant article.

The final paragraph identified the role parents can play, and advised they should “bring to the attention of the school administration any situation that alarms” them.

I remember speaking to a parent last week who was very concerned about the toilets in her son’s school. She said that because of the poor condition of the toilets, her son spends the entire school day without using the washroom.

Over the years I have seen many school washrooms. Some are clean and well maintained, while others are in an unsatisfactory condition. Measures should be taken to ensure that school washrooms are clean, safe, and properly supplied and maintained.
