Maxie recovering well

Public Administration and Communications Minister Maxie Cuffie is continuing to make a steady recovery from a medical episode he experienced earlier this year.

Sources close to Cuffie said the minister is still recuperating at a hospital in Washington DC.

Cuffie, who is also La Horquetta/Talparo MP, was admitted to the St Clair Medical Centre in September.

He was flown to Washington in November for specialist medical treatement, after undergoing surgery at St Clair.

One source said Cuffie is still in Washington and is recovery is going well.

A second source said the treatment that Cuffie has been undergoing, included phyisotherapy. Cuffie’s wife, Hernia Tyson-Cuffie is in Washington with him.

There has been no indication as to when Cuffie will return home or resume his ministerial duties.

Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley previously indicated that the Office of the Prime Minister will oversee the administrative functions of the Public Administration and Communications Ministry while Cuffie recuperates.

On Cuffie’s Facebook page, several people extended their prayers and best wishes to him for a speedy recovery.
