Caribbean Cinemas goes 4D at South Park
Patrons to Caribbean Cinemas can expect a whole new movie experience from Thursday as the South Park branch in San Fernando introduces the first 4DX auditorium in the English-speaking Caribbean, just in time for the premiere of Star Wars; The Last Jedi.
The company issued a release on Friday stating the new auditorium will feature motion-activated seats, wind, fog, rain, lighting, vibrations and scents.
The combination is said to transcend the traditional cinema experience. This feature can only be experienced in 400 cinemas across the world.
Caribbean Cinemas president Robert Carrady said the introduction of the 4DX experience will bring the latest technology to the local cinema industry.
“We are very happy to open our first 4DX screen in Trinidad, we are bringing innovation and the latest in entertainment technology to such a dynamic market,” Carrady said. “Since it’s opening SouthPark became the new entertainment destination in the region and now the 4DX screen will certainly prove to be a ground-breaking movie experience for the movie-goers here.”
The company boasted that the auditorium, which can seat 108 people, will take viewers from watching a movie to almost being a part of it.
