Connections of Massy United Insurance Trinidad Derby third Battle Cry and Maha Raja paid a penalty fee of $1,440 apiece to race in the Caribbean Champion Stakles.

The race over 1800 metres for three-year-olds and over West Indian-bred horses will be one of three “big races” to be run at Santa Rosa park, Arima, on Republic Day holiday, Septem,ber 25.

Derby winner Leading Lady, runner-up Hello and contender Valorous will renew rivalry./

Bigman In Town a previous wnner of the race holds the engagement among the 11 horses nominated.

A total of $ 10,800 in nomination fees were collected at the second stage.

And a final nomination fee of $720 becomes due and payable on the date of entry.

Meanwhile connections of Tranwpire paid a penalty fee of $1,200 to race in the 1350 metres Diamond Stakes.

This race will also be run off on Republic Day holiday.

Stockyard winner of the Massy Remittance Independence Cup, President’s Cup winner Whisper Light and Conquest Bespoke are set to match strides in the Grade 3 event.

A final nomination fee of $600 becomes due and payable on the date of entry.
