Suspected bandit killed by licenced gun holder in Claxton Bay

An 18-year-old alleged bandit was shot and killed by a man with a licensed gun after he tried to rob him when he went to sell a toy poodle in Claxton Bay on March 22

Police said around 3.15 pm, a man and his 10-year-old daughter went to Winchester Street to sell the dog and were met by Christian Patterson.

The man reported Patterson had a gun and announced a robbery. He pointed the gun at the pair, but the man took out his gun and shot at him.

Patterson was hit multiple times and died on the scene. A gun was found near his body.

Investigations are ongoing.
