Police have launched an investigation into an incident in which a duck caused minor damage to a marked police vehicle in a collision on Wednesday morning.

A report said around 1.45 am, two police officers were driving south on the Manzanilla-Mayaro Road in Manzanilla when one of them noticed a duck flying across the road from the western side.

The driver was unable to veer away and the bird hit the front of the vehicle.

Neither of the officers was injured, but they realised the duck was stuck in the front grille.

They carefully removed the bird and saw minor damage to the grille.

The investigation into this incident is ongoing.

Newsday has not received any updates on the condition of the duck.
