Grande man killed in road accident

MARCUS Lezama, 36, was killed after being pinned in his trailer truck during an accident on Saturday night.

Police reported that around 10 pm, they responded to a report of an accident along the Southern Main Road in Chaguanas.

Upon arrival, they saw a truck smashed by its trailer with Lezama stuck inside the cabin. The vehicle was in a ditch between the north-bound lane of the Uriah Butler Highway and the Southern Main Road.

Fire officers and medical personnel responded and later freed Lezama who was taken to the Chaguanas Health Facility where he died.

A Facebook page, Trini Trailer Truckers posted, “A very unfortunate loss. A man of great work ethic and a member of the trucking fraternity has passed. From all of us, RIP Marcus Lezama.” Enquiries are continuing.
