Minnesota United's Kevin Molino and Seattle Sounders' Joevin Jones used Monday evening's MLS Western Conference final stage to highlight a problem in their homeland – violence against women and children.

The national footballers wore custom jerseys last evening appealing to TT to protect them.
Jones and Molino are originally from Carenage.

The murder of 18-year-old Ashanti Riley last week has sparked a national outcry for justice and an end to violence against women. Riley left her Sunshine Avenue, San Juan home last Sunday to visit her grandmother but went missing after getting into a PH taxi. She was found dead in Santa Cruz on Friday.

For 2020, the murders of 45 women have been reported.
