Couple charged after shotgun, ammo seized

A BARRACKPORE couple has been charged with possession of a firearm and ammunition. A release from the police on Thursday stated that Nicholas Latchman, 30, and his common-law wife Shalini Silochan, 35, were arrested on Wednesday.

Police said Barrackpore Police station officers executed a search warrant at a house in Ramlal Trace, Rochard Douglas Road and found a Coveneca shotgun with a 12-gauge cartridge and one (1) round of ammunition on the top of a wardrobe. The couple was due to appear at the Princes Town Magistrates’ Court later on Thursday.
