Damage from bad roads

THE EDITOR: I am shocked and appalled at the state of the roads in this country and I am appealing for more to be done by the Ministry of Works and whoever is responsible for maintaining the roads.

When one of the tyres of my vehicle that I worked very hard to purchase hits the inside of a pothole, it is pushed both backward and upward, transmitting the force of impact to the wheel, the suspension and the steering mechanism.

I am fed up with having to visit the mechanic due to the fact that my wheels keep getting knocked out of alignment. Lots of damage keeps being done to the suspension components and major damage to the shock absorbers.

This is shocking treatment from the powers that be who are responsible for ensuring that our roads are worthy and safe to be driven on.
