Gas station, NIS office, bank gone
THE EDITOR: As a concerned resident of St James, I have observed that within the past six to seven years, the community has lost the services of its only gas station, the National Insurance Scheme office has ceased operations, and now the Royal Bank of Canada branch has folded up.
It is quite remarkable that these three long-serving business institutions are in close proximity of each other.
The closure of these landmarks of St James has brought a financial strain on the pockets of senior citizens of the district.
They now have to pay to be transported out of St James to carry out their monthly business transactions, if no close relative does not own a vehicle. And don’t be surprised if some relatives demand money for gas for their vehicles.
