Free gifts for St James passengers
Come tomorrow, the first 50 passengers who choose to travel with an H-taxi from the official taxi stand on Hart Street, Port of Spain, rather than take an illegal taxi (PH) on Independence Square, will get free gifts.
President of the St James Taxi Drivers Association Errol Alexander yesterday visited Newsday’s head office on Chacon Street, Port of Spain, to call on commuters travelling to St James and environs to use H-taxi instead of PH cars.
He said on Friday at around 12 noon he would be distributing coffee mugs and calendars to the first 50 passengers and wish them compliments of the season.
“Some of the drivers are crying out that they are not making enough money, and the road is hard, because passengers taking the PH taxi downtown.
I want the passengers to know that we appreciate them and also want to encourage them to use the H-taxi.
“I am doing this to try to boost up the passengers and show them that we appreciate them and their services by travelling with us,” Alexander said.
