Massy Stores, Nestlé, Carib, SuperPharm and Blue Waters among the companies operating in TT which did well in a recent Best Buy Award Survey. The inaugural TT edition of the survey was conducted by the Switzerland-based International Certification Association (ICERTIAS) in September, using a web questionnaire on a sample of 1,200 local internet users above the age of 15, following the Computer Assisted Web Interviewing - Deep Mind Awareness (CAWI - DEEPMA) method.
ICERTIAS used open-ended questions to find out which products and services TT consumers believe “represented the best value for their money.” Participants were surveyed on different economic and non-economic categories “where their personal experience of specific products and service categories” on the local market were addressed.
These categories spanned sectors including retail, food, cosmetics, home appliances, telecommunications and finances. “The Best Buy Award 2017/2018 proved to be very revealing,” ICERTIAS said, “as residents of TT selected a variety of both international and domestic brands as their top choices for best price-quality ratio.”
Blue Waters won in the non-carbonated water and carbonated water categories, Carib in the beer category, Massy Stores in the retail chain category and Nestlé in the milk category.
TSTT won the internet service category while Toyota topped family car, Guardian Life won for best insurance company, Serta for bed mattress, Trinidad Citrus for fruit juice, NP for petrol stations, Blue Band for margarine, Republic Bank for the bank category and Swiss for pasta.
