Couva mom died from chops, stabs

An autopsy on the body of 52-year-old Couva mother Savitri Harrylal revealed yesterday she died from shock and haemorrhage due to chop wounds.
Harrylal of Cameron Street, Balmain, Couva, was stabbed and chopped multiple times on the neck at about 5 pm on Monday. He body was found by a relative in a bedroom and police said the house was ransacked which points to the possibility that the motive for the attack was robbery. Harrylal’s body, police said, also had a piece of cord around the neck and her hands and feet were tied with a plastic bag.
Her son Adrian Harrylal told police he left his mother at home at about 2 p.m. to attend to errands but returned three hours later and found the front door to the house open.
