The 2023 Girls First Festival got off to an energetic start on August 13, at Bishop Anstey High School East, Trincity, Trinidad. The event brought together a diverse group of participants, speakers, and workshops centred on fostering leadership, self-confidence and personal growth for girls.

The event’s theme, Limitless, guided discussions and activities aimed at equipping young women with the tools they need to adopt a perspective that is free from self-imposed limitations and to thrive in today’s world.

Founder of the Girls First Festival Karen Darbasie said, “Girls First Limitless is about providing you with knowledge, tools and most importantly, the mindset you’ll need to go after that thing you envision! Those things that, when you close your eyes and listen to your heart, are clearly your passions and your goals!”

The Girls First Festival Tobago Edition, hosted by Whitney Husbands, will take place on August 20 at the Shaw Park Cultural Facility, and will include a line-up of speakers, among them Rayshawn Pierre, Korice Nancis, Davia Chambers, and clinical psychologist Dr Alina Williams.
